Taylor Burgess serves as the Lead Pastor of Cross Community. He and his wife, Emily, were married in August of 2010 and have two young boys, Gideon (3) and Nolan (1). Taylor is a native of Boone, NC and attended Appalachian State before transferring to complete his undergraduate degree at Liberty University, where he majored in Religious Studies, and he also holds a Master of Arts (Church Planting & Evangelism) from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Emily is a stay-at-home-mom who enjoys caring for their two young boys, serving and encouraging other young moms, and running her Etsy shop from home. Called into ministry at age 17, Taylor has nearly 12 years of ministry experience in a wide range of areas including teaching, leading worship, and student ministry, but his greatest passion in life is preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing lives transformed by its power.

Greyson Johnston,
Creative Arts Pastor

Greyson Johnston serves as the Creative Arts Pastor at Cross Community Church.  He and his wife, Lauryn, have two kids - Everett (3) and Walker (1) and after a short stint in Winston-Salem, NC after getting married in 2010 have lived in Beaufort since 2012. Greyson was born in Greenville, SC but has lived most of his life in Beaufort, so much that he is pretty much a Beaufortonian. He attended 10,000 Fathers Worship School with Aaron Keyes in 2015 and was featured as a songwriter on 10,000 Father’s first live album “Invitation.” Lauryn is a stay-at-home-mom who kills it at caring for their kids, has gotten crazy good at crocheting, and loves to help and care for new mothers through the newness of parenting. Greyson was called into the worship ministry in high school, but it wasn’t until college that he took heed of that call. He has 10 years of worship ministry experience and has been growing in his craft along with videography, photography, graphic design, and communications.
Greyson’s greatest desire is to see song leaders grow into worship pastors.
