Married Sandra Lee Gahn on December 19, 1971 in Port Clinton, Ohio
Father of two adult children, The Rev. Jason Schafer, Pastor/Developer of Crossroad
Lutheran Church, Fort Mill South Carolina, and Matthew Schafer of Marietta, GA and grandfather to Ella Grace and Micah Andrew Schafer of
Fort Mill, South Carolina
